PM (Gr. 5–8): Kodely: Sports Around the World – Play, Compete, and Discover Global Games
Middle School Summer Course Catalog -
Summer Program 2025
Campers will embark on a global adventure through sports, movement-based challenges, and team competitions inspired by games from around the world. Each day, they will explore and play traditional and modern sports from different cultures, developing skills in strategy, agility, and teamwork. They will learn about the origins and history of games like sepak takraw (Thailand), bocce (Italy), ultimate frisbee (USA), rugby (UK), and kabaddi (India), while also competing in classic Olympic-style challenges. Movement-based activities will include relay races, cooperative strategy games, and hand-eye coordination challenges. In addition to playing these sports, campers will take on a design challenge where they create their own original sport, incorporating different elements from games they’ve learned. The week will conclude with an International Sports Festival, where campers compete in a friendly tournament that showcases their new skills and sportsmanship. No devices will be used this week, as all activities will focus on physical movement, strategy, and teamwork.
