Pine Tones Choir (Grades 3–6)

Sing with the Pine Tones Choir

Join the Torrey after-school choir — no audition required, and open to all Torreys in Grades 3–6. Since 2015, the Pine Tones have served as our resident youth choir. Singers learn advanced choral music, perform with Middle and Upper School music groups at the Halloween and December concerts, attend a day-long workshop at the Disneyland Resort, make new friends, and grow in confidence and musicianship.

LED BY  Kelley Hart, Wendy Clemente, and Liesl Hansen, who work as a team to teach the music, stage the performances, and lead the Disney trip.

Program highlights

• Take a deeper dive into singing: Pine Tones learn more advanced choral music, using harmony and movement to create memorable performances.
• Make new friends: there is no better way to build friendships across the Lower and Middle Schools than by making music together.
• Share performances: Pine Tones collaborate with Middle and Upper School musicians and present concerts in the Four Flowers Theater and at the Conrad in La Jolla.
• Professional experience: at the Disney Resort, singers attend a backstage recording studio workshop with a Disney cast member and learn what professional musicians do every day.
• Students leave with: about 10 choral pieces learned, at least four performances, and a day at the Disneyland Resort.
