AM SPORTS (Gr. 5–8) Beach VolleyballSports CampsBeginner, intermediate and experienced players sharpen their volleyball skills on the beach by improving their vertical jump for indoor play and learning to move faster in the sand. This camp focuses on passing and setting ball control, speed and agility footwork, serving and hitting practice, defensive movements, and gameplay. Players gain experience with tough windy conditions in deep sand on the LJCDS sand volleyball courts, preparing them to compete in local 2-on-2 tournaments. Beach volleyball is one of the fastest-growing NCAA sports, is offered in colleges all over the nation, and this year, officially became CIF-sanctioned at the high school level. AM–SPORTS (Gr. 1–10): Tennis CampSports CampsThis camp teaches and enhances the students’ love for the sport of tennis in a structured environment that focuses on teaching solid fundamentals to allow for proper development. Sign up for one week or all eight. Each day of camp includes drilling and stroke production, footwork and movement, and appropriate strategy sessions based on skill level. Using techniques that are built on developing future Torrey soccer players, your athlete will spend the morning moving and playing the world's most popular game. The final day will be spent competing in a mini World Cup tournament where players of similar age and ability will have a chance to showcase their skills.
