Campers learn about the creatures who once roamed the earth, including what they looked like and what their surroundings may have been. Through rich literature, hands-on art projects, songs and games, students explore a variety of things with wings—from bugs to birds to airplanes. Each day is a new surprise! This two-week thematic program, which includes PE, snacks and recess, allows students to meet new friends and become accustomed to kindergarten routines at LJCDS. They explore what can be seen and done during a day at the beach and what they may find on a deep dive into the big blue. This session allows students to stretch their imagination, use critical-thinking skills, meet new peers, and begin their love for learning. Campers will train like astronauts through gravity-based obstacle courses, moonwalk races, and rocket-launching challenges. They will create stomp rockets, space-inspired artwork, and mini solar systems. Camp Torreys offers various indoor and outdoor activities, including group games, campus nature walks, crafts and much more during each two-week session. Check out the colors of chemistry with the power of pH paper and create a stopper-popping reaction.
