NewAthletic Performance Camp (Grades 5–12)Athletics Camp Summer 26 CatalogAthletic Performance Camp is designed for middle school and upper school athletes looking to improve overall athleticism, movement quality, and physical performance. Whether a novice or elite competitor, single-sport or multisport athlete, this program supports athletes at all levels. Training focuses on joint integrity, stabilization, balance, coordination, agility, functional strength, and conditioning. Athletes will also develop proper mechanics for running, jumping, and moving efficiently in multiple directions. The camp offers multiple session options by age and experience level, allowing athletes to register for one or more weeks and select sessions that best match their developmental needs. This camp teaches and enhances the students’ love for the sport of tennis in a structured environment that focuses on teaching solid fundamentals to allow for proper development. Sign up for one week or all eight. Each day of camp includes drilling and stroke production, footwork and movement, and appropriate strategy sessions based on skill level. Continual evaluation and feedback are provided. What to bring: Each player must bring their tennis racket and any other items they feel necessary to compete, plus a snack and refillable water bottle. Water polo is a fast-paced Olympic sport that combines swimming, teamwork, strategy, and ball skills in a dynamic team environment. These clinics are designed to introduce students to the sport in a fun, structured, and welcoming setting, while also helping experienced swimmers continue to build confidence, conditioning, and game awareness in the water. Instruction includes swimming fundamentals, passing, shooting, positioning, and introductory scrimmaging. No prior water polo experience is required. Camp instruction covers putting, chipping, ball striking, rules, and golf etiquette. During the first two days, players will train using the new on-campus golf simulators at LJCDS and practice short-game skills at the Del Mar Golf Center. The final two days take place on course at Mission Bay Golf Course, giving players the opportunity to apply skills in real-play situations. This camp is designed for golfers who already have basic playing experience and are ready to further develop their game through focused instruction and on-course practice. NewAM Sports: Beach Volleyball (Grades 5-9)Athletics Camp Summer 26 CatalogBeach Volleyball Camp is open to students in Grades 5–9, including beginner, intermediate, and experienced players. This morning camp focuses on developing volleyball skills through movement, conditioning, and gameplay in a fun and challenging beach environment. Players will work on passing and setting control, speed and agility footwork, serving and hitting technique, defensive movements, and game strategy. Training in deep sand and windy conditions helps athletes improve vertical jump, endurance, and overall court awareness, supporting both beach and indoor volleyball play. Camp sessions are intentionally designed to prepare players for competitive 2-on-2 beach volleyball, with instruction tailored by age and experience level.
