Together, we’ll explore themes of mystery, history, identity, and resilience — all while enjoying a good book (and some snacks, too!). Each meeting will include guided discussions, creative or analytical activities connected to the books, and time to reflect on the characters and themes. Color, Craft, Create!Spring ArtsStudents in grades 2–4 are invited to get creative each week as they dive into a brand-new art project. From painting and crafting to beading and imaginative design, students will explore a variety of hands-on activities that can be completed in under an hour. This enrichment program encourages creativity, confidence, and fun in a relaxed, supportive environment. EcoArts KidsSpring ArtsEcoArts Kids makes art time the best part of the week! Kids get to paint, sculpt, draw, and build with all kinds of materials. WaitlistLower School Homework Club (Gr. 3–4)Spring EnrichmentGet a head start on homework and project assignments during this quiet study time led by Lower School faculty! Students receive close support and guidance as they complete their weekly assignments and/or prepare for upcoming class projects. This program is designed to provide students with a structured, consistent framework for completing homework assignments and practicing organizational skills while in the school setting. Students are asked to come to each session with assignments to complete and a book to read for weekly minutes, and to be prepared to work for the entire duration. Additional cross-disciplinary project-based learning activities are available for those students who are interested. A snack is provided, however, students are welcome to bring their own healthy snacks. Please let us know of any food allergies. MS Surf ClubSpring 2026 Enrichment ProgramsMiddle School Surf offers students the opportunity to build confidence, resilience, and ocean awareness through structured surf instruction at La Jolla Shores. This program focuses on foundational surf skills including paddling technique, wave selection, pop-ups, balance, ocean safety, and surf etiquette. Students will develop strength, endurance, and confidence while learning to read conditions and navigate the water responsibly. Sessions take place at La Jolla Shores, where students will be dropped off and picked up directly at the beach. Students must provide their own: Wetsuit Surfboard The instructor is happy to offer guidance on selecting appropriate equipment for those new to the sport. Mandarin PlaygroupSpring EnrichmentThe Mandarin Playgroup is a fun, immersive language enrichment program designed for Grade 1–4 students with little to no prior exposure to Mandarin Chinese. Through play-based learning, music, movement, storytelling, and hands-on activities, students are introduced to Mandarin in a low-pressure, engaging environment that builds confidence and curiosity. The program focuses on listening and speaking skills first, allowing children to naturally absorb the sounds and rhythm of Mandarin while developing cultural awareness. Middle School Homework Club (Gr. 5–6)Spring EnrichmentWe’re excited to kick off the school year with the return of our 5/6 Middle School Homework Club, offered every Tuesday from 3:30–4:30 PM. This after-school program is a great opportunity for students to get a head start on homework, build strong organizational and study skills, spend time reading, and enjoy some light snacks! We have 18 spots available for this session, and enrollment will be on a first-come, first-served basis. If more than 30 students express interest, we’ll explore adding another day to accommodate additional participants. Families of the first 18 students to sign up will receive a confirmation email with further details about our first session, which begins on September 8th. SuperMoverzSpring MovementSuperMoverz is an action-packed, all around sports adventure program for kids who like to play hard, have fun, and power up their many abilities, including: athletic skills, social emotional awareness, and overall fitness. Super Moverz Kids get to go on a wide range of special “missions”, led by Master Commander and his Guardians, allowing them to play different as they move through higher levels and learn what it takes to work together as a team. Ultimate FrisbeeSpring SportsCome join the fun and fast-growing sport of Ultimate Frisbee! This exciting team game is played 7 vs. 7 on a field and blends agility, athleticism, strategy, and teamwork; all with a flying disc. Students will learn foundational throwing and catching skills, movement, offensive and defensive positioning, and game play in a supportive, high-energy environment.
